Hello May! I really cannot believe that it is already May! This year is just flying by already! Finally we caught a couple of days of sunshine here in Missouri! It’s going to be short lived though of course…rainy and 40s the rest of the week. UGH!

Very anxious to start getting ready for the Carrie Underwood concert tonight! About to go play dress up until I figure out something to wear!! I am definitely looking forward to a much needed night out with the girls!

I have been thinking over some ideas for Saturday evening…it is National Scrapbook Day and all! Really wanting to get some fun crafting on.

This week (until tomorrow anyways) the Silhouette store is having a 50% clearance on all shapes. My subscription just renewed a few days ago as well so I’ve got about 100 shapes to choose using the sale. I’ve been adding to my cart all week and looking for inspiration from my favorite die cut expert.

This sale has really got my realizing that I do not use my cameo nearly enough. My crafting goal for this month is to use my silhouette as much as I can possibly manage. I am intending on using at least one cut on every layout I make this month.

I also plan on gathering supplies for my May Product Picks in the next week or so as well.

While I’ve got you here, I’ve also got another layout for my niece’s album to share.

Lots from the 5th and Frolic line used on this one. I really love the colors and patterns from this collection. I also mixed in a little Everyday Eclectic as well. I even cut the shape from a couple pieces of cardboard for dimension!

This page started off with the hexagon border I created from the different patterns. This shape is so easy and versatile. I really love that I was able to use a lot of the different patterns using this technique. I added a few punched hearts, buttons, and twine to the shapes to add a little more interest. I added dimension to a few of the hexagons by using foam tape.

I created borders and clusters at the top and bottom of the page to bring the design in to the middle and make it more cohesive. This page came together fairly quickly and I really love how it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! Do you have any special plans for National Scrapbooking Day?
